Contracted by York Housing to build 8 new houses achieving an ECO Homes Very Good rating. The principle aim was to construct the houses in a sustainable manner and to reduce the energy requirements and therefore the costs of running the houses for the tenants.

This was achieved by utilising the Passivhaus Construction techniques along with other modern methods of construction. The walls and roofs consisted of sealed insulation panels to give high levels of insulation, and the dwellings were constructed to an extremely air tight level (air leakage rates achieved were 1.5 kg/ m3/m some of the lowest rates achieved in this country).
